Meet Our Team

Our compassionate team is dedicated to creating a warm, supportive environment where residents feel at home everyday.

Watching my Nana’s journey changed me forever. It revealed a calling that has become my life’s work.

Kelly Holland

Executive Director

My name is Kelly Jones Holland, and I am proud to call Eastern North Carolina home. I was born and raised in Red Oak, the daughter of Rosemary Reges Jones and the late Stevie Jones, and a graduate of Northern Nash High School, Class of 2007.

Growing up on the Reges family farm, I was blessed to be surrounded by people who taught me what truly matters in life. My mother, Rosemary Reges Jones, and my Grandaddy, “Big Jim” Reges—instilled in me the values that have guided me throughout my life: hard work, humility, integrity, compassion, and the belief that the greatest measure of success is found in serving others. They taught me to treat every person with kindness and respect, to always lend a helping hand, and to leave every place and every person better than I found them. Those lessons didn’t just shape who I am; they became the foundation for the leader and caregiver I strive to be every day.

But the path that led me to senior care began with someone else I loved dearly, my Nana, Ruby Reges.

During the last year and a half of her life, I had the privilege of being her primary caregiver. In those days, I learned lessons that no classroom could ever teach. I learned that dignity matters. I learned that compassion matters. I learned that the smallest acts of kindness often mean the most. Most importantly, I learned that our seniors deserve to be cherished, respected, and cared for with the same love they spent a lifetime giving to others.

Watching my Nana’s journey changed me forever. It revealed a calling that has become my life’s work.

Every resident who walks through our doors is someone’s mother, father, grandmother, grandfather, sibling, spouse, or best friend. They are the keepers of stories, traditions, sacrifices, and wisdom. They have spent their lives raising families, building communities, serving others, and leaving behind legacies that deserve to be honored. My goal is simple: to ensure that every resident at Scotland House experiences the same love, dignity, comfort, and quality of life that I wanted for my Nana.

I am also a proud graduate of Liberty University, where I earned my Bachelor of Science in Law and Policy: Pre-Law, graduating Summa Cum Laude. While education has opened many doors for me, it is the lessons learned through family, caregiving, and service that have shaped me the most.

My husband, Austin, and I are blessed to be raising five incredible boys—Jake, Landon, Easton, Jackson, and Nixon. They keep our lives busy, loud, and full of laughter, and they remind me every day of the importance of family, patience, and cherishing every season of life.

As I lead in my role, I do so with a servant’s heart and a deep appreciation for the trust families place in us. Entrusting the care of a loved one to someone else is one of the most difficult decisions a family will ever make, and it is a responsibility I will never take lightly.

My hope for Scotland House is simple: that every resident feels valued, every family feels supported, and every staff member knows how deeply appreciated they are. I want Scotland House to be a place where residents are not only cared for but truly known, loved, and celebrated. A place where families have peace of mind knowing their loved ones are safe, respected, and treated like family.

I am excited for the relationships we will build, the memories we will create, and the opportunity to continue serving the wonderful residents and families who call Scotland House home. I look forward to leading with compassion, serving with integrity, and ensuring that every decision we make is rooted in one simple question:

“Is this what we would want for our own family?”

Because to me, that’s what Scotland House is all about.

I’m genuinely interested in what makes people who they are, and I’m loving getting to know all of our residents’ stories

Lexie Ford

Busniess Office Coordinator

I’m Lexie Ford, and I’m the Business Office Coordinator. I’ve been with Scotland House since June 2026, but I’ve worked in the fields of office administration, operations, and financial services for 30+ years. When my previous employer moved our team to another state, I knew I was ready for a change! My goals were to stay closer to my local community and do something where I could make an impact on those I interact with daily.

I’m genuinely interested in what makes people who they are, and I’m loving getting to know all of our residents’ stories. I know our team wants the very best for those entrusted to our care, and that means so much.

She also has a special fondness for sunflowers, dragonflies, and western-inspired style, which perfectly match her warm, kind-hearted, and down-to-earth personality.

There is truly nothing more rewarding than knowing that a resident is looking forward to seeing me the next day

Shamichael Freeman

Special Care Coordinator

I have had the privilege of working with Scotland House for over six years. Throughout my time here, my greatest motivation has always been providing compassionate care and meeting the individual needs and wants of my residents.

There is truly nothing more rewarding than knowing that a resident is looking forward to seeing me the next day. I value being able to listen to my residents, advocate for them, and assist them with accomplishing their everyday goals and needs.

One of my favorite parts of working at Scotland House is witnessing residents accomplish things they once believed they could not do. Seeing their confidence grow and watching their faces light up when they know they have been heard, respected, and supported is what makes this work so meaningful to me.

My residents are the reason I continue to stand beside them and give my best every day. Over the years, I have had the opportunity to serve in several roles, including Personal Care Assistant (PCA), SIC/Medication Technician (Med Tech), and now Special Care Coordinator (SCC). Each role has helped me grow professionally, strengthen my leadership skills, and deepen my commitment to providing quality care.

I am grateful for the experiences, relationships, and opportunities Scotland House has given me, and I look forward to continuing to make a positive difference in the lives of the residents I serve.
